The role of Assistant Restaurant Leader at Raising Cane's is critical for supporting the Restaurant Leader to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold the company’s high standards and culture. This leadership position involves overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations in a fast-paced environment that requires physical stamina and strong interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include managing hiring and termination of hourly crewmembers, handling the onboarding and payroll processes, creating work schedules, coaching and developing performance among staff, opening and closing the restaurant, and managing cash accountability. The Assistant Restaurant Leader also enforces policies and standards, takes part in shift management meetings, deploys crewmembers effectively, delivers exceptional customer service, and maintains restaurant cleanliness and operational readiness. This role demands adaptability, strong communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to operate independently and within a team in a dynamic setting. It requires working in varied conditions—including exposure to different temperatures, industrial equipment, and cleaning agents—while adhering to safety protocols and using personal protective equipment as necessary. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three plus years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including days evenings and weekends
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Self-driven and flexible with strong communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required some college preferred
  • Three plus years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • New restaurant opening experience preferred
  • Detail-oriented organized and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-driven flexible and highly energetic with strong analytical written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in technology systems including Microsoft Office Excel Word and Outlook
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including days evenings and weekends
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Job Duties

  • Hire and terminate all hourly non-management crewmembers
  • Own the onboarding status change and payroll process for all hourly crewmembers
  • Create crewmember work and training schedules
  • Manage the performance of all hourly crewmembers including development coaching redirective communication documentation and other performance management tasks
  • Act as manager on duty and open and close the restaurant
  • Manage cash handling and ensure accountability
  • Enforce Raising Cane's policies and standards
  • Execute shift management meeting Raising Cane's operations and safety standards
  • Use required tools forms and logs to support shift execution document results and take corrective action when needed
  • Deploy crewmembers during a shift
  • Provide exemplary customer service
  • Utilize reward and recognition program for the crewmembers in the restaurant
  • Authorize employee functions requiring manager approval such as discounts promotions timeclock overrides
  • Ensure cleanliness of the restaurant and maintain facility in good working order
  • Complete other duties as assigned
