The Assistant Restaurant Leader position at Raising Cane's plays a crucial role in supporting the Restaurant Leader with the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. The physical environment of this role involves working in a fast-paced kitchen setting, which requires physical exertion such as walking, standing for extended periods, lifting, and bending. The role also involves interaction with customers and working both inside and outside the restaurant in varied temperature conditions. Employees in this position must be comfortable handling food products, allergens, various industrial kitchen equipment, and commercial cleaning agents, often utilizing personal protective equipment to maintain safety standards.
As a leader on site, the Assistant Restaurant Leader acts as the manager on duty, responsible for opening and closing the restaurant according to company policies and standards. They lead shift management meetings, use operational tools to document results, deploy crewmembers efficiently during shifts, and maintain cleanliness and operational orderliness of the restaurant facility. The role also includes providing exemplary customer service, implementing reward and recognition programs for staff motivation, and authorizing employee functions such as discounts and promotions that require managerial approval.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Able to work a variety of shifts including days evenings and weekends
- Able to travel as needed for work-related functions and training
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel Word and Outlook
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Strong analytical written and verbal communication skills
- Self-driven and flexible
- Able to work independently and collaboratively

Job Duties
- Hires and terminates all hourly non-management crewmembers
- Owns the onboarding status change and payroll process for all hourly crewmembers
- Creates crewmember work and training schedules
- Manages the performance of all hourly crewmembers including development coaching redirective communication and documentation
- Acts as manager on duty and opens and closes the restaurant
- Manages cash handling and ensures accountability
- Enforces Raising Cane’s policies and standards
