The role demands hands-on involvement in cleaning and maintaining the produce area, upholding high cleanliness standards, and supporting the department manager in hiring, scheduling, and training team members to optimize productivity and morale.

Furthermore, this role requires vigilance in monitoring product quality and addressing code dating and shrink opportunities to reduce waste and ensure product integrity. Strong organizational skills are essential to plan and execute work duties efficiently during shifts. The Assistant Produce Manager will also assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed, demonstrating versatility and a willingness to contribute beyond the produce department.

This position demands a high level of physical stamina, as daily activities include walking and standing on concrete floors for extended periods, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and handling heavy items up to 60 lbs regularly, with occasional pushing or pulling of weights ranging between 500 to 1,500 lbs. Working conditions may include exposure to cold or freezing temperatures typical of a warehouse environment, and constant awareness of moving equipment within the facility.
