Job Requirements

  • ability to perform physical tasks such as chopping and lifting
  • willingness to travel between locations
  • ability to work early morning shifts
  • reliable and punctual
  • good communication skills
  • ability to follow detailed instructions
  • maintain cleanliness and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in food preparation or kitchen work advantageous
  • ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • ability to work early morning shifts
  • flexibility to work at multiple locations
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • preferred but not required previous experience with barbecue cooking

Job Duties

  • travel between Mt. Pleasant and James Island locations
  • assist with prep cook and assistant pit-master duties
  • follow prep lists and recipes created by executive or sous chef
  • measure ingredients and seasonings for cooking
  • wash and chop vegetables and meats
  • maintain clean and organized prep station
  • set up and maintain steam table with appropriate pans and temperatures
  • trim and season meats for smoking
  • manage fires for smokers
  • clean and maintain smoker equipment
  • monitor and manage quality of smoked meats
  • prepare sides and sauces
  • perform general restaurant cleaning
  • adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
