Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years experience in pastry production
- At least 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Must be able to maintain any necessary legal work authorizations
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate, read and write in English fluently and professionally
- Experience of at least 4 years in a high volume, high quality pastry production kitchen
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
- Banquet and catering pastry training degree preferred
- Culinary or pastry training degree preferred but not required
- Advanced knowledge of pastries and desserts, sanitation and cost control
- Ability to manage all aspects of a pastry operation
- Ability to work efficiently within a team environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required licensing or work cards at all times
Job Duties
- Supporting the executive chef in all aspects of cost control
- Completing inventories and food requisitions
- Managing and training kitchen staff
- Supporting the chef de parties and cooks if necessary
- Supervising the production of pastries and desserts for outlets
- Ensuring food quality according to department standards
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment according to health department standards
