Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 3 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience
  • ability to lead and manage a team effectively
  • knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations
  • proficiency in baking and pastry preparation
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • excellent customer service skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • 1 year experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area

Job Duties

  • Assisting in leading the pastry team
  • managing day-to-day operations
  • coordinating activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation
  • utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others
  • serving as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors
  • preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications
  • developing, designing, or creating new ideas and items for the pastry kitchen
  • following proper handling and right temperature of all food products
  • maintaining food preparation handling and correct storage standards
  • recognizing superior quality products, presentations and flavor
  • ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • assisting the Executive Chef with menu development associated with pastry
  • operating and maintaining all department equipment and reporting malfunctions
  • preparing and cooking foods of all types for special guests or functions
  • checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
  • assisting in determining food presentation and creating decorative food displays
  • monitoring and providing service behaviors that exceed customer satisfaction
  • managing day-to-day operations ensuring quality and standards
  • responding to and handling guest problems and complaints
  • interacting with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
  • supporting achievement of culinary goals associated with pastry products
  • prioritizing, organizing and accomplishing daily pastry operations work
  • supporting procedures for food and beverage portion and waste controls
  • purchasing appropriate supplies and managing inventories according to budget
  • providing information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, written form, e-mail, or in person
  • analyzing information and evaluating results to solve problems
  • attending and participating in all pertinent meetings
