Job Requirements

  • Current CA RN license
  • Valid BLS certification
  • ACLS certification obtained within one year of hire or transfer
  • Completion of Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire or transfer
  • Ability to work full-time day shift of 10 hours
  • Commitment to Kaweah Health mission and values
  • Availability to work within the 6150 M/S Cardiac-2N department
  • Capability to monitor and coordinate patient care across continuum
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills
  • Adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards in nursing

Job Qualifications

  • CA RN license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification within one year of hire/transfer
  • Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred within three years
  • Expertise in clinical area preferred
  • Supervisory experience or training preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal, critical thinking and creative problem solving skills

Job Duties

  • Assist with oversight of efficient operations to meet holistic needs of patients and families
  • Ensure staff competency and financial responsibility
  • Monitor patient care daily through rounds and feedback
  • Review patient care documentation to ensure adequacy and regulatory compliance
  • Report patient care issues using Statement of Concern process
  • Use patient satisfaction data to drive quality improvements
  • Collaborate with nurse manager and educator on staff orientation
  • Identify and communicate performance or education issues promptly
  • Assess and determine competencies for float staff
  • Apply HR policies to maintain employment standards
  • Manage staffing resources using patient classification tools
  • Participate in interviewing, recruiting and retaining staff
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, staff, and departments
  • Act as patient advocate and uphold nursing ethical standards
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and promote dignity and autonomy
