Job Description

Flynn Group entered the Panera system in 2015 with the acquisition of 47 cafes. Since then, the company has experienced significant growth, becoming the second-largest Panera franchisee globally. Flynn Panera operates with a decentralized business structure, where each geographic area is directed by a Market Leader who oversees Area Directors. These Area Directors manage multiple units including individual Panera Bread cafes. General Managers are responsible for the daily operations of their specific cafes, assisted by Assistant Managers and Team Managers who help oversee departmental functions and daily management tasks. Flynn Panera is committed to hiring exceptional leaders with extensive industry experience, as evident by their leadership team’s combined over 190 years of restaurant industry expertise and over 60 years of experience with Flynn Group alone. Flynn Group, founded in 1999 by Greg Flynn, is the world’s largest franchise operator. The company manages a diverse portfolio of well-known food and fitness brands such as Applebee’s, Arby’s, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and Planet Fitness. Flynn Group’s core mission is to be the premier operator within all its brands by adhering to core values of genuine care, competitive spirit, and teamwork.

Flynn Panera operates upscale, friendly cafes that specialize in artisan baked breads, pastries, made-to-order soups, salads, and sandwiches, along with specialty espresso beverages. Panera Bread cafes under Flynn Panera’s management maintain a clean, grease- and alcohol-free environment, which results in no fryers and no late-night hours—ideal for associates who prefer early shifts and a healthy work environment. Managers at Flynn Panera typically supervise up to 75 staff members, ensuring a top-quality service experience for every guest.

The role of a Manager at Panera Bread under Flynn Panera is dynamic and multifaceted, focusing on inspiring and leading teams to deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining high restaurant standards for cleanliness, sanitation, food quality, and facility management. This leadership position requires a passion for the restaurant industry and strong coaching and counseling skills to promote a productive and enjoyable workplace. Managers play a strategic role in driving profitable operations, retaining talent, and fostering a culture aligned with the company’s values. The position offers an outstanding opportunity to join a rapidly growing restaurant concept that values stability, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.

Key responsibilities include managing daily restaurant operations, including ordering, scheduling, labor management, marketing, bakery functions, and catering services. Managers analyze sales and profitability data to create action plans for sustained business growth. They serve as a crucial communication link between associates and upper management, help recruit and train new staff, and ensure compliance with all company standards and ethical practices. This role emphasizes leadership in employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence, making it a rewarding position for experienced hospitality professionals. Flynn Panera offers competitive wages, profit sharing, meal discounts, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance starting after the first month, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation, and ample development opportunities.
