Job Description

Flynn Group, established by Greg Flynn, began its journey in 1999 with the acquisition of eight Applebee's restaurants. Over the past two decades, the company has experienced dynamic growth by building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators, ultimately becoming the largest Applebee's franchisee worldwide. Currently, Flynn Group operates more than 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states, displaying a strong footprint in the quick-service and casual dining restaurant industry. This robust foundation has enabled Flynn Group to venture into various brands, expanding its footprint not only across different dining concepts but also into other countries and industries.

Flynn Applebee's is one of the seven premier brands under Flynn Group's diversified portfolio. The Flynn Group is a significant player in the restaurant and fitness sectors, owning and managing iconic brands such as Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. Their mission is to be the premier operator within each of these well-known brands by emphasizing core values like genuine care for people, playing competitively, and winning collectively.

The role of an Applebee's Assistant Manager is essential to the day-to-day operations at Flynn Applebee's restaurants. This position involves managing restaurant operations directly, ensuring both guest satisfaction and staff engagement. The Assistant Manager’s responsibilities focus on creating outstanding guest experiences, leading staff with strong teamwork and problem-solving capabilities, and maintaining high standards of restaurant operations. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, and a passion to drive excellence while fostering a fun and dynamic work environment.

Assistant Managers are expected to uphold company guidelines concerning timely and friendly service, cultivating a culture rooted in Flynn Applebee's core values, promptly addressing guest feedback, and ensuring thorough guest contact standards. They oversee inventory levels, product preparation, and presentations to meet company standards. A critical part of the job includes employee scheduling to balance sales demands efficiently while maintaining safety, security, cleanliness, and sanitation in the restaurant. Furthermore, they play a vital role in recruitment, staff training, development, performance evaluation, and documentation.

This position requires someone hands-on who can work across all roles within the restaurant, from cooking and bartending to guest seating, providing a role model for leadership and teamwork. The Assistant Manager is also accountable for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, cost control in their department, food and liquor inventories, and accurate completion of daily paperwork.

The compensation for Applebee's Assistant Manager ranges from $15.38 to $26.44 per hour, translating to approximately $44,850 to $68,500 annually based on a 50-hour work week, and includes the potential for a monthly bonus where applicable. The position demands physical stamina, including standing and moving for long hours, lifting up to 50 pounds safely, and possessing communication skills for effective management and operational success.

Flynn Group promotes diversity and inclusivity and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the application process. If you thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and want a career in one of the largest franchise operators in the world, this role offers growth, challenge, and the chance to be part of a premier team dedicated to outstanding guest experiences and operational excellence.
