As an Applebee's Assistant Manager within Flynn Group, you will play an integral role in the daily operations and success of the restaurant. This management position requires leadership skills to inspire and motivate staff, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage stressful situations with resilience and a positive attitude. The Assistant Manager is responsible for creating a passionate and enjoyable environment for both guests and employees. This includes ensuring quality service, handling guest complaints promptly, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and overseeing employee training and development.
Compensation for Applebee's Assistant Managers ranges from $19 to $23.50 per hour, which translates to approximately $54,340 to $67,200 annually based on a 50-hour work week. There is potential to earn monthly bonuses depending on location. Flynn Group offers competitive wages along with profit sharing and bonus opportunities. In addition, employees receive comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan with matching contributions, paid vacation, and paid sick leave. Managers with six months of continuous employment receive five days of PTO until their first anniversary, with additional vacation accrual based on tenure. Part-time managers are eligible for prorated PTO.
Physical demands of the role include working various shifts which may include weekends, standing and moving for up to 10 hours per shift, and safely lifting items up to 50 pounds. The position also requires basic communication skills including reading and writing and dexterity for handling small tools and equipment.

Job Requirements
- At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
- Ability to work various shifts including weekends
- Ability to stand and exert mobility for up to 10 hours
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol Certifications are a plus

Job Duties
- Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
- Cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
- Ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
- Ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards
- Maintains departmental inventory levels
- Ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meeting company standards by performing line checks
- Effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
- Maintains effective safety and security programs
- Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
- Performs routine maintenance and immediately reports to the General Manager/Area Director of needed repairs
- Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team member and management candidates
- Promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
- Helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and implementation of company policy and training systems
- Participates in the constant development of employees using One-on-One and performance documentation, and contributes to the completion of written evaluations
- Assesses the efficiency of employees, provides fair feedback on a regular basis, and continuously works with employees on their areas of development
- Monitors acceptable employee performance and documents situations that require or could lead to disciplinary or corrective action
- Assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures
- Responsible for controlling cost in assigned department
- Compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines
- Drives bi-weekly / weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM's request and is accountable for completion
- Responsible for preparing and submitting accurate daily paperwork
- Assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards
- Provides a role model for managers and employees
- Develops self on all store related technology
- Must be willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed when in a restaurant, including cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending
- Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies
