The company prides itself on delivering fresh and delicious food with a focus on convenience and excellent service. With thousands of locations nationwide, Jack in the Box provides a dynamic work environment that fosters growth, teamwork, and a passion for hospitality.

The Assistant Restaurant Manager role at Jack in the Box is an essential leadership position responsible for supporting the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all day-to-day operations of the restaurant. Whether working alongside the Restaurant Manager or taking charge in their absence, the Assistant Restaurant Manager is entrusted with ensuring the effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and the company's Brand Promise. This role centers on delivering outstanding internal service to employees and external service to guests while driving restaurant sales and profitability. Individuals in this position must ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards, while cultivating a welcoming, clean, safe, and friendly restaurant environment.

As a key player in restaurant management, the Assistant Restaurant Manager will be involved in recruiting, selecting, training, developing, and evaluating team members. This includes holding the team accountable for providing excellent guest service, maintaining consistent food quality, and ensuring the restaurant meets cleanliness and maintenance standards. The position demands hands-on leadership, requiring the manager to be visibly engaged with both employees and guests, quickly addressing any concerns or complaints to ensure positive resolutions.

Financial acumen is critical to this role as well. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, the Assistant Restaurant Manager uses management information tools to analyze operational and financial performance, identify trends, and implement strategic action plans. They focus on increasing sales and profits by understanding the interrelated components of the Service Profit Chain and by making data-driven business decisions. Furthermore, monitoring costs, adhering to budgets, and protecting the brand's reputation are vital for maintaining a profitable restaurant.

This role also involves fostering a strong company culture aligned with Jack in the Box's values and principles. The Assistant Restaurant Manager demonstrates integrity, honesty, respect, and effective conflict management while keeping the team motivated and focused. Training and development of team members are emphasized to ensure continuous growth and readiness for promotion within the company.

Knowledge of food safety, quality standards, and operational procedures are indispensable, alongside the ability to navigate multiple demands and adapt to changing priorities. The Assistant Restaurant Manager must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of making informed decisions. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk extensively, lift heavy items, and operate restaurant equipment. The company supports reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
