The role of Assistant Restaurant Manager at Jack in the Box is integral to the successful management of restaurant operations, working in collaboration with or during the absence of the Restaurant Manager. This position demands strong leadership capabilities combined with a hands-on approach to managing daily activities. The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a critical role in executing the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and upholding the Brand Promise, ensuring that all restaurant functions operate smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities include recruiting, selecting, and developing restaurant employees, monitoring staffing levels and training to maintain high standards of performance, and fostering a positive workplace culture that motivates and rewards employees appropriately. This role is also focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences by maintaining consistent food quality, superior service, and a clean, safe environment. The Assistant Restaurant Manager is expected to handle guest concerns promptly and maintain a positive image of the brand through excellent operational standards.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory or management role
  • ServSafe certification
  • ability to speak, read, and write English
  • at least 18 years old
  • valid driver’s license and insurance
  • physical ability to stand and walk 85-95% of shift
  • ability to lift 10-65 pounds
  • ability to operate restaurant equipment and drive a vehicle
  • completion of Assistant Manager training classes

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • minimum 1 year experience as a Shift Leader or Assistant Manager internally
  • minimum 3 years experience as an Assistant Manager externally
  • 100% certified in all workstations
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • ServSafe certified
  • ability to speak, read, and write English effectively
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • ability to perform basic math operations
  • proven analytical skills
  • good organization and planning skills
  • valid driver’s license and insurance
  • experience using personal computer and related software
  • demonstrated integrity and ethical behavior

Job Duties

  • Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate restaurant employees
  • monitor staffing levels to ensure sufficient talent
  • ensure systems for employee training on workstations are implemented
  • identify and develop internal candidates for management roles
