Job Description
Jack in the Box is a leading fast-food restaurant chain known for its innovative menu and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. Established with a focus on quality food and friendly service, the company has grown to be a recognized brand across many locations. Jack in the Box prides itself on fostering a positive culture that emphasizes integrity, respect, and continuous development for its team members. The company offers career opportunities that support growth and advancement within the organization, making it an employer of choice in the restaurant industry.
The Assistant Restaurant Manager role at Jack in the Box is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations, particularly in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. This role requires a blend of leadership, operational expertise, and a strong commitment to the Service Profit Chain and Brand Promise. The Assistant Restaurant Manager is entrusted with managing internal service by recruiting, training, and developing employees to deliver high performance. This includes monitoring staffing levels, ensuring adherence to training systems, and fostering a work environment that is friendly, clean, and safe.
Externally, the role involves managing guest service excellence by training employees to consistently provide top-quality food and customer service. The Assistant Manager actively engages with guests to address concerns, ensuring positive resolutions that uphold the brand's reputation. Financial acumen is also essential, as the Assistant Manager partners with the Restaurant Manager to analyze operational and financial data to maximize sales and profit. This involves monitoring costs, budget adherence, and implementing improvement plans based on performance metrics.
The role demands a passionate leader who can embody the culture and values of Jack in the Box, demonstrating integrity and ethical behavior while motivating and inspiring their team. The Assistant Restaurant Manager is expected to handle multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency, make informed decisions, and manage conflicts effectively. Physical demands include the ability to stand and walk for most of the shift and lift moderate weights, emphasizing the hands-on nature of the restaurant environment.
This position requires candidates to meet specific qualifications, including a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference for candidates holding an associate's or bachelor’s degree. Experience requirements vary depending on whether the candidate is an internal promote or an external recruit, with certification in all workstations and completion of Assistant Manager training also mandatory. ServSafe certification is required to maintain high standards of food safety and quality.
Jack in the Box is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, ensuring equal employment opportunities and inclusive workspaces. The Assistant Restaurant Manager role is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals seeking a dynamic work environment with scope for professional growth and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a well-established brand.
