The role of Assistant Store Manager at Urban Wellness is a key leadership position responsible for supporting the store in achieving operational excellence and financial targets. The Assistant Manager works closely with store management to oversee daily dispensary operations, including staff training, inventory control, customer service enhancement, and ensuring compliance with cannabis regulations. This position demands strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. The Assistant Store Manager is involved in multiple facets of store performance—from managing budgeting and scheduling to participating in marketing efforts and maintaining safety and security protocols. This role is critical in maintaining a positive, professional work environment and delivering an exceptional customer experience. Job Requirements

Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
must complete all onboarding tasks including national backgrounds and hold current (non-expired) training certificates in HIPAA and Food Handling before onboarding
must be able to pick up shifts and come in when Budtenders call out
must be able to use a computer and have knowledge of Google Docs, Word, Excel, and other programs

Job Qualifications

Minimum of 3-5 years of retail management experience with at least 2 years in the cannabis industry preferred
extensive knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods
proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
strong understanding of state and local cannabis regulations and compliance requirements
commitment to providing excellent customer service and creating a positive shopping experience
proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite
high school diploma or equivalent required, additional education in business management, cannabis studies, or related fields is a plus

Job Duties

Onboard, train, and manage Budtenders contributing to a positive and productive work environment
ensure exceptional customer service by training staff, resolving customer complaints, and maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere
oversee daily operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and transaction processing
ensure full compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations including proper verification of customer identification and age, and adherence to product handling guidelines
collaborate and lead on inventory levels, perform regular audits, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability and accuracy
collaborate with store management to monitor sales performance, prepare detailed sales reports, and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
collaborate with store management to develop and implement store promotions and marketing strategies to drive sales and enhance customer experience
manage store budget, control expenses, and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial targets
ensure the safety and security of the store, staff, and customers by implementing and maintaining security protocols
keep ongoing reports on staff and customers regarding incidents, coaching opportunities, and policy violations in collaboration with store management
