The role of Assistant Manager of Security at MGM Resorts International is pivotal to maintaining the safety and integrity of the casino and overall resort environment. This position involves leading a team of Security and Peace Officers who are dedicated to providing outstanding guest service while ensuring the protection of guests, employees, and assets. The Assistant Manager of Security is responsible for managing department operations, including staffing, training, and compliance with gaming regulations and state laws. This leadership position requires sound judgment, proactive decision-making, and the ability to respond swiftly to various situations that may arise within the casino setting.
Candidates for this role will be tasked with overseeing the daily operations of security personnel, coordinating schedules, conducting interviews, and administering discipline or coaching where necessary. Additionally, the Assistant Manager of Security acts as a liaison with external agencies during security incidents and plays a key role in conducting and supervising investigations. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to obtain licensure from New York State Gaming Commission
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in security, law enforcement, or military
- Available to work varied shifts including day, swing, grave, weekends and holidays
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of investigative reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and security management software
Job Qualifications
- At least 2 years of direct security experience in a leadership role in high-end resort, casino, law enforcement or military
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in investigative reporting
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and security management software
- Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to obtain proper licensure as required by the New York State Gaming Commission
- Experience in casino or high-stakes security environment preferred
Job Duties
- Manage security officers, department operations, and support staff, including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating, enforcing policy, and administering discipline and coaching as needed
- Plan, develop, and direct staff work assignments and station coverage
- Oversee guest and employee safety by promoting a safe and secure environment and enforcing state, local, regulatory, and company policies
- Act as a liaison with outside agencies during security incidents
- Assist and coordinate onsite investigations
- Monitor and support security-related processing
- Address guest questions and concerns promptly by coordinating with appropriate departments or management
- Respond to guest and employee emergencies and threats, document incidents, and ensure proper escalation
