The position being offered is an entry-level management role within the Rooms Operations department, which encompasses several critical service areas including Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff, AYS (Ask Your Services), and Concierge/Guest Services. This full-time management opportunity involves supporting the day-to-day operational activities that ensure seamless guest arrivals and departures and maintaining the immaculate standards of the property. As a Rooms Operations Manager, you will collaborate closely with various teams to maintain the smooth operation of service areas, ensuring guest satisfaction and adherence to property standards. Your responsibilities will include overseeing staff schedules, managing supplies and uniforms, understanding night audit procedures, and supporting loss prevention policies. Additionally, you will be tasked with reviewing operational reports to inform and optimize business strategies and contribute to budget management. Beyond operational management, you will play a vital role in enhancing the guest experience. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related area
- Or two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major
- One year experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related area if holding a degree
- Ability to work full time
- Must not be located remotely
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to manage operational staff and schedules
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related professional area
- Two-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major preferred
- One year experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related professional area if holding a degree
- Strong understanding of hotel room operations functions
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
- Basic knowledge of budgeting and revenue management
- Familiarity with loss prevention policies and procedures
- Proficiency in using operational reports and guest tracking systems
Job Duties
- Open and close Front Desk and Housekeeping shifts ensuring completion of assigned shift checklists and other duties
- Run and review critical information contained in room operations reports
- Understand the functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, AYS, Front Desk, and Concierge/Guest Services operations
- Operate all department equipment as necessary and report malfunctions
- Ensure employees have the proper supplies and uniforms
- Understand night audit procedures and utilize reports as necessary
- Comply with loss prevention policies and procedures
- Communicate performance expectations to employees in accordance with job descriptions
- Handle employee questions and concerns
- Schedule employees effectively to meet business demands and track employee time and attendance
- Supervise same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and property occupancy
- Verify accuracy of room rates to maximize revenue opportunities
- Use budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports to assist in managing Room Operations
- Participate in managing departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
- Understand the impact of Room Operations on overall property financial goals
- Assist in investigating employee and guest accidents
- Use guest information tracking systems to support repeat guest recognition programs
- Set a positive example for guest relations
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback, effectively respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
- Assist in reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
