Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related area
- OR 2-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration or related
- 1 year experience in guest services or related professional area
- Ability to operate departmental equipment
- Understanding of night audit and loss prevention procedures
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to manage and schedule staff
- Commitment to guest satisfaction and property standards
- Eligible to work full time in Plano, Texas
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration or related major with 1 year experience
- Strong knowledge of hotel room operations and front desk management
- Ability to use reports and budgets to support operational decisions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle guest complaints and implement customer service standards
- Experience in scheduling and supervising staff
- Understanding of loss prevention policies
- Familiarity with night audit procedures
Job Duties
- Open and close front desk and housekeeping shifts ensuring completion of checklists and assigned duties
- Review and analyze room operations reports for critical information
- Understand and support functions of recreation, laundry, housekeeping, bell staff, AYS, front desk and concierge/guest services
- Operate department equipment and report malfunctions
- Ensure employees have proper supplies and uniforms
- Apply night audit procedures and utilize reports as necessary
- Comply with loss prevention policies and procedures
- Communicate performance expectations and handle employee questions and concerns
- Schedule employees according to business demands and track time and attendance
- Supervise same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and occupancy
- Verify accuracy of room rates to maximize revenue
- Use budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to assist in room operations management
- Participate in managing controllable departmental expenses to meet or exceed budget goals
- Understand the financial impact of room operations on overall property objectives
- Assist in investigating employee and guest accidents
- Use guest information tracking systems to support repeat guest recognition programs
- Set a positive example for guest relations
- Interact with guests to gather feedback and handle complaints
- Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
