These values shape their culture and guide employee behavior, creating a supportive, innovative, and service-oriented environment.

At CHOPT, the Assistant Manager position is vital to sustaining the restaurant's high standards and operational efficiency. This full-time role offers a competitive base compensation of $18-21.00 per hour, dependent upon experience, with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week and potential for overtime based on business needs. The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager by fostering a positive and inclusive work culture where every employee feels welcome and respected. A key focus of the role includes prioritizing exceptional customer service and hospitality, ensuring that every guest has an outstanding experience.

The Assistant Manager is responsible for training and coaching hourly staff, helping to build a strong talent pipeline by identifying and developing future trainers. Maintaining strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards is essential, ensuring all operations meet or exceed regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Assistant Manager ensures safe working conditions to minimize the risk of injury and protect the welfare of employees.

Representing and protecting the CHOPT brand is a key responsibility, requiring the Assistant Manager to establish and uphold staff compliance with all company policies and procedures. The role also involves vital administrative functions such as scheduling, payroll, inventory management, and order processing to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

CHOPT is dedicated to personal and professional development, offering a comprehensive 5-week Management in Training program followed by a year-long development path to equip Assistant Managers with leadership and operational skills pivotal for career growth within the company. The organization values diversity and is committed to inclusive hiring practices, encouraging people of color, LGBTQA+ individuals, veterans, parents, and differently-abled individuals to apply.

As part of CHOPT's comprehensive benefits package, employees gain access to healthcare including vision and dental coverage, paid maternity leave, paid bonding time for fathers and adoptive parents, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, commuter and dependent care benefits, a corporate wellness plan with ClassPass, and 100% company-paid short-term disability. Employees enjoy generous paid time off and sick leave to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Additional perks include free salads for staff and an engaging, supportive work environment with clear career paths and ongoing training.

CHOPT requires employees to be based in New York, NY 10036, with relocation necessary before starting work.
