The Ranch Assistant Manager position at Mathis Management is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about restaurant operations and customer service within a ranch environment. This role is crafted for leaders who are adept at managing front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) operations simultaneously, ensuring a seamless dining experience for guests while maintaining the highest operational standards. As a Ranch Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supervising staff, handling customer complaints, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and ordering and managing inventory efficiently. You will engage directly with customers to ensure their satisfaction and take immediate action to resolve any issues.

In this crucial leadership role, you will also coordinate employee schedules, conduct pre-shift meetings, and support hiring and training initiatives to retain a motivated and productive team. Your leadership will drive higher sales and improved operational efficiency by fostering a positive work environment. You will work closely with kitchen managers and other FOH managers to deliver a cohesive restaurant experience that aligns with the company’s policies and objectives. The work environment may require occasional exposure to heat, cold, and water, along with physical activity such as lifting, stooping, and walking. The role requires someone at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Candidates must have a management background and obtain an Oklahoma liquor license to be eligible.

Job Duties

  • Provide level of service which ensures customers return
  • handle customer requests and complaints professionally
  • create and maintain a restaurant environment which invites and welcomes customers to the restaurant
  • comply with company policies and procedures to ensure customer satisfaction to achieve restaurant objectives
  • effectively manage employee turnover
  • provide a positive working environment and handle employment issues appropriately
  • work in conjunction with host staff in setting up for dinner service by preparing floor chart noting all call parties, specials instructions, and special needs
  • ensure food facilities are kept clean, sanitary, and well maintained
  • manage and motivate staff to increase sales and ensure efficiency
  • training of all FOH staff
  • weekly ordering of supplies
  • monthly inventory
  • respond to customer complaints and comments
  • daily administrative back-office paperwork including tip sheets, house account records, balance sheet, etc
  • walking the restaurant floor, meeting with customers, and managing FOH and BOH staff (in conjunction with Kitchen Manager, other FOH Manager(s), & General Manager)
  • resolve staff questions, coordinate workflow, assist with hiring of employees
  • prepare staff schedules
  • monitor employee schedules and hours
  • enforce all company policies and procedures
  • perform daily pre-shift meetings
  • maintain an accurate and efficient inventory and cost
  • schedule equipment repair
