Job Description

Panda Express, founded in Glendale, California in 1983, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. As an industry leader in Asian dining, Panda Express is committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences while fostering a supportive and inspiring environment for its associates. The company strongly emphasizes its dedication to family values, continuous learning, and professional growth, making it a highly sought-after employer for those seeking a rewarding career in the restaurant industry. Panda Express takes pride in its inclusive culture, ensuring equal employment opportunities and adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding workplace accommodations and anti-discrimination policies.

Joining Panda Express means becoming part of a community-oriented organization that places a high value on both personal and professional development. They offer comprehensive benefits, competitive compensation, and hands-on training to prepare their team members for success. Their commitment extends beyond daily operations, providing numerous programs for career advancement and leadership development, as well as opportunities to contribute to the community. The company fosters a positive work environment through mentorship, paid training, and support from a dedicated Panda community that cares about each associate's success.

The role of Assistant Manager at Panda Express involves assisting in the daily operations of a single store location. This leadership position requires managing, hiring, and directing associates to achieve the store's financial targets while ensuring outstanding guest experiences. The Assistant Manager plays a critical role in the success of the store, overseeing key operational areas and motivating the team to deliver exceptional service. Panda Express supports this role with a comprehensive store leadership training program lasting at least three weeks, designed to equip new managers with the skills necessary to excel. Candidates can expect a flexible schedule including weekends and are required to work in-store within a 50-mile radius. This position offers a generous compensation package with bonus opportunities, as well as an extensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, 401K with company match, and more.

Working in this role requires the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with physical demands such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in heat and noise. Safety and food quality are priorities, with employees required to hold Food Safety Serve Safe certification. Panda Express provides ongoing career and leadership development opportunities, continuous education assistance, and scholarships to help associates advance their careers within the company. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced leaders looking to grow within a nationally recognized and respected restaurant group that values its team members and their contributions to the organization.
