Founded in Glendale, California, in 1983, Panda Express has grown exponentially and now operates close to 2,800 locations globally. The company is committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences, underpinned by a mission to inspire and improve the lives of its associates and the communities it serves. Panda Express fosters a family-oriented environment that emphasizes professional and personal development, and it is deeply invested in creating a supportive, inclusive workplace culture. As a part of its dedication to associate growth, Panda Express offers paid Store Management Leadership Training, ongoing career and leadership development, and mentorship opportunities, all designed to ensure team members are well-prepared for success and advancement in their careers.
This job opportunity centers on the role of Assistant Manager at Panda Express. The Assistant Manager plays a critical part in ensuring smooth and efficient operation of a single restaurant location. This position involves hiring, managing, and directing team members with a goal-oriented approach to achieve financial targets while delivering outstanding customer service and guest experiences. The individual in this role is entrusted with the overall success of the store, carrying the responsibility of cultivating a motivated team that upholds the high standards of the Panda brand. To support candidates in achieving excellence, Panda Express provides comprehensive training that spans three or more weeks, covering critical operational leadership skills. The Assistant Manager must have flexible working availability, including weekends, and be willing to work within a 50-mile radius of the store location. The role also requires adherence to food safety standards, including Serve Safe certification.
Panda Express recognizes and rewards its Assistant Managers with a competitive compensation package that includes bonus opportunities and a generous benefits package. Benefits offered include medical, dental, and vision insurance, voluntary short-term disability and cancer income protection insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company match. Paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement and funeral leave, and the Leave Share Program are also provided to support work-life balance. The company offers additional perks such as free meals during shifts, discounts at theme parks, gym memberships, career growth opportunities, scholarships, and continuous education assistance.
Working at Panda Express means joining a vibrant, fast-paced environment where teamwork, communication, and adaptability are essential. Employees are expected to work efficiently in hot and noisy kitchen spaces, handling various kitchen equipment and lifting up to 50 pounds. Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve conflicts in high-pressure situations are vital for success. Panda Express is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion and ensuring reasonable accommodations are available throughout the hiring process. Joining Panda Express means being part of a strong, family-oriented community that has proudly served delicious food since 1983 and continues to embrace its core values while driving innovation and growth in the restaurant industry.
