Job Description

Panda Express is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, founded in Glendale, California in 1983. With nearly 2,300 locations globally, Panda Express has established itself as a leader in the fast-casual dining industry, committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences to customers. The company prides itself on a culture that embraces family values and fosters the development of its associates both personally and professionally. Panda Express invests heavily in the growth and success of its team members through comprehensive training, ongoing career development, mentorship, and a supportive community environment.

We are seeking experienced leaders to join our store management team as Assistant Managers. This is a vital role where you will assist in operating a single Panda Express store and contribute directly to its success. As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for hiring, managing, and directing associates to achieve financial targets and deliver outstanding guest experiences. The position offers a competitive hourly wage between $22 and $25, with opportunities for bonuses based on performance metrics and store success.

To prepare you for success, Panda Express provides a paid Store Management Leadership Training program lasting three or more weeks, where you will develop strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a deep understanding of our company culture. The training covers everything from associate management to food safety protocols, customer service excellence, and financial goal attainment. Panda Express believes in providing a hands-on, supportive learning environment to foster your growth as a leader.

This role requires flexibility, as you must be willing and able to work at stores within a 50-mile radius and maintain a flexible schedule that includes weekends. Candidates should hold a high school diploma and be certified in food safety, ideally through the Serve Safe program. This ensures the safety and quality of food preparation, which is a core value at Panda Express.

Working at Panda Express means joining a community that cares about your professional satisfaction and work-life balance. Benefits include free meals during shifts, a generous compensation package with bonus opportunities, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401K with company match. Associates also receive paid time off, holiday pay, and leave options, including bereavement and funeral leave. Employees benefit from numerous discounts such as theme parks and gym memberships, plus opportunities for community involvement and ongoing education assistance including scholarships.

Panda Express is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring equal employment opportunities for all individuals regardless of gender, race, age, disability, or other protected characteristics. The company complies fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and provides reasonable accommodations for candidates throughout the application and hiring process.

By joining Panda Express as an Assistant Manager, you become part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment where teamwork, leadership, and customer satisfaction are at the forefront. You will gain invaluable experience in the restaurant industry, receive continual leadership development, and have opportunities to grow within the organization. Our goal is to help you succeed as you contribute to the legacy of excellence and community that Panda Express is known for worldwide.
