Job Description

Panda Express is a renowned American fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in American Chinese cuisine and is part of the larger Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, boasting nearly 2,300 locations worldwide. The company prides itself on a strong commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a family-oriented and community-focused culture. Panda Express is deeply invested in the professional and personal development of its associates, offering a supportive environment filled with training, mentorship, and opportunities for advancement. Their core values emphasize teamwork, leadership, and the continual improvement of skills in a dynamic, fast-paced industry. The company continuously strives to make a positive impact on both its team members and the communities where it operates, championing equality, inclusivity, and employee well-being.

The Assistant Manager role at Panda Express is an exciting and pivotal position within the store management team. This position requires capable and motivated individuals experienced in leadership to help oversee daily store operations. The Assistant Manager is responsible for hiring, managing, and directing store associates to meet financial objectives and ensure a superior guest experience. This role demands a hands-on approach and dedication to making each location a success through effective team leadership and operational excellence. Panda Express supports this leadership role by providing a comprehensive paid Store Management Leadership Training program lasting three or more weeks, along with ongoing development opportunities. Other significant perks include free meals during work hours, a generous compensation package with bonus opportunities, and robust health benefits such as medical, vision, and dental insurance for full-time employees. Furthermore, benefits extend to short-term disability, cancer income protection insurance, a 401K plan with company match, paid time off, holiday pay, and community engagement initiatives.

This role is especially suited for individuals who enjoy a fast-paced workplace and thrive on motivating teams toward shared success. Flexibility in work locations within a 50-mile radius and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, are essential. The requirements also call for mandatory Food Safety certification (Serve Safe) to ensure compliance with health standards. Panda Express maintains a strong focus on workplace safety and accessibility, detailing the physical demands and environment typical to its kitchens. This includes the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work efficiently under moderate noise conditions. The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, promoting diversity and inclusiveness and supporting employees with disabilities through reasonable accommodations during both the hiring process and employment. This position invites passionate leaders to join a progressive team dedicated to growth, development, and operational excellence within a thriving industry leader.
