We are currently seeking a seasoned Hotel Operations Manager to join our management team. This generalist management role involves supporting and overseeing multiple departments to maintain seamless hotel operations and exceptional guest satisfaction. The role primarily supports Front Desk operations (including Bell/Door Staff, Switchboard, AYS, and Concierge/Guest Services), Rooms (including Housekeeping, Recreation, and Laundry), Food and Beverage (covering Restaurants, Bar/Lounge, and Room Service), as well as Event Operations (comprising Event Services, Banquets, and Event Technology).

The Hotel Operations Manager will coordinate labor scheduling and lead shifts across various departments based on property requirements. This person will be accountable for directing daily team activities including guest arrival and departure procedures, supporting food and beverage operations, and overseeing the setup and execution of meetings and events in accordance with established standards and guest expectations. The role requires conducting guest room inspections, providing operational feedback, and ensuring event operations teams meet desired quality standards.

In addition to operational responsibilities, this management position involves supporting compliance with brand standards and legal obligations while fostering an environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The Hotel Operations Manager will communicate performance expectations, conduct staff training, and assist senior managers with financial and administrative duties. By actively participating in meetings and decision-making processes, this role strives to enhance guest and employee satisfaction, optimize financial results, and uphold the hotel's reputation for excellence.

Ideal candidates will bring a solid background in hospitality management with at least two years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related sectors. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preference for candidates holding a two-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven skills in shift running, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, and day-to-day operational leadership are highly desirable.

This is a full-time management position based onsite at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel with an hourly pay range of $28.37 to $35.58, and eligibility for bonuses. Candidates must have robust interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead and influence teams, promote sound business decisions, and model integrity throughout their work.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Leads daily front desk, housekeeping, or guest services shift operations
  • assists in supervising an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space
  • attends all pertinent meetings
  • encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • performs all duties at the front desk as necessary
  • supervises daily shift operations and ensures compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards and procedures
  • supports all areas of the front office in the absence of the front office or front desk manager
  • opens and closes restaurant, bar, or food and beverage outlet shifts
  • supervises operations for all related areas in the absence of director or manager
  • adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures
  • assists in maintaining inventory of function room amenities and other controllable supplies
  • leads shifts and actively participates in servicing events
  • manages departmental inventories and assets including par levels and maintenance of equipment
  • assists with employee performance appraisal process and training
  • participates in the management of departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
  • handles guest problems and complaints
  • manages to achieve or exceed budgeted financial goals
  • communicates performance expectations and trains staff
  • participates in meetings communicating departmental goals
  • exercises leadership by example and promotes sound financial and business decision making
  • ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal beverage and liquor laws
  • schedules employees to ensure shift coverage and meet business demands
  • understands night audit procedures and utilizes reports as necessary
