Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 2 years experience in hospitality-related roles
  • ability to work full-time onsite at Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • availability to manage various shifts and departments as needed
  • knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • familiarity with hospitality standards and brand compliance
  • ability to handle guest issues professionally
  • capacity to manage financial and operational metrics
  • must be bonus eligible
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • Experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem solving, running day-to-day operation, hospitality skills
  • knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • ability to lead, influence and encourage team members
  • understanding of beverage control and inventory management
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to manage budgets and financial reports
  • knowledge of hotel operations across multiple departments
  • adept at training and developing staff
  • proficiency in handling guest complaints and ensuring customer satisfaction

Job Duties

  • Leads daily front desk, housekeeping, or guest services shift operations
  • assists in supervising an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space
  • attends all pertinent meetings
  • encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • performs all duties at the front desk as necessary
  • supervises daily shift operations and ensures compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards and procedures
  • supports all areas of the front office in the absence of the front office or front desk manager
  • opens and closes restaurant, bar, or food and beverage outlet shifts
  • supervises operations for all related areas in the absence of director or manager
  • adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures
  • assists in maintaining inventory of function room amenities and other controllable supplies
  • leads shifts and actively participates in servicing events
  • manages departmental inventories and assets including par levels and maintenance of equipment
  • assists with employee performance appraisal process and training
  • participates in the management of departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
  • handles guest problems and complaints
  • manages to achieve or exceed budgeted financial goals
  • communicates performance expectations and trains staff
  • participates in meetings communicating departmental goals
  • exercises leadership by example and promotes sound financial and business decision making
  • ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal beverage and liquor laws
  • schedules employees to ensure shift coverage and meet business demands
  • understands night audit procedures and utilizes reports as necessary
