Job Description

Panda Express, established in 1983 in Glendale, California, has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. Known for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences, Panda Express is committed not only to quality food but also to fostering a supportive and growing community for its associates. The company values family-oriented principles and places a strong emphasis on professional and personal development, providing a unique work environment where employees are inspired to better their lives both inside and outside of work. Panda Express stands as a beacon of inclusive employment, embracing diversity and ensuring equal opportunity for all, regardless of gender, race, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics. This commitment extends to providing reasonable accommodations during the application and hiring process, reflecting the organization's dedication to accessibility and fairness.

The role of Assistant Manager at Panda Express is a vital leadership position responsible for supporting the operational success of a single store. The Assistant Manager plays an integral part in hiring, managing, and directing store associates to meet financial goals while ensuring that every guest enjoys an exceptional experience. This role demands a hands-on leadership style where the individual is accountable for the smooth operation of their assigned store, from staffing to customer satisfaction. To prepare candidates for success, Panda Express provides comprehensive paid Store Management Leadership Training that spans more than three weeks, ensuring thorough readiness for the responsibilities ahead. The Assistant Manager is expected to maintain flexibility for scheduling, including working opening and closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands effectively. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment marked by high noise levels, restricted workspaces, and active customer service. Ancillary skills such as effective communication, conflict resolution, and adaptability to changing priorities are essential. Furthermore, the role mandates Serve Safe certification to guarantee food safety and quality standards are consistently upheld.

This enriching leadership opportunity at Panda Express is ideal for individuals looking to advance their careers within a respected industry leader that provides a nurturing environment combined with robust training and mentorship. The company’s pledge to the growth and success of their associates, along with their extensive network of stores, makes this role attractive for candidates keen on professional development and making a tangible impact in the food service industry.
