Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, specializing in providing high-quality American Chinese cuisine. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in America, boasting close to 2,800 locations globally. The company emphasizes a strong commitment to both professional and personal development of its associates, ensuring that every team member has opportunities to grow within a supportive and inclusive environment. Panda Express is dedicated to fostering a work culture grounded in family values, community involvement, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
As an Assistant Manager at Panda Express, you will play a pivotal role in the successful operation of a single store. This leadership position involves managing and directing store associates, overseeing daily operations, and driving the achievement of financial goals. Your responsibilities will also include hiring team members and ensuring the delivery of outstanding guest services, making sure the Panda Express brand's high standards are consistently met. To prepare you for this important role, Panda Express provides a comprehensive store leadership training program lasting three or more weeks, designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead your team effectively.
The Assistant Manager position requires a strong ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and the capability to handle multiple priorities. You'll work closely with your team to maintain operational excellence, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and create an atmosphere that motivates associates to succeed. The role also demands flexibility in scheduling, often including opening and closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with business needs.
Panda Express values inclusivity and equal opportunity employment, embracing diversity across all levels. The company strictly adheres to all federal, state, and local laws concerning workplace accommodations and nondiscrimination. Employees are expected to maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and customer service while working in dynamic and sometimes challenging physical environments, including exposure to heat, noise, and requiring physical stamina. This commitment to excellence and care for its employees has made Panda Express an industry leader and a desirable place to build a career in the restaurant industry.
