Job Description
Panda Express, founded in 1983 and headquartered in Glendale, California, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda Express has built a reputation for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences. The company operates with a strong commitment to family values, community impact, and the professional and personal development of its employees. Known for its vibrant culture and dedication to quality, Panda Express continually strives to create a supportive work environment where associates are encouraged to grow and succeed.
As an Assistant Manager at Panda Express, you will play a crucial role in the success of a single store by assisting in its overall operation. This position involves responsibilities such as hiring, managing, and directing associates to meet financial goals while ensuring delivery of exceptional guest experiences. You will lead by example and foster a positive team environment that promotes productivity and engagement. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, as it generally includes opening and closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays, aligning with business needs.
To prepare you for this leadership role, Panda Express offers a comprehensive Store Management Leadership Training program lasting three or more weeks. This training provides mentorship and ongoing support from the Panda community to set you up for success. The Assistant Manager position is ideal for individuals passionate about the foodservice industry, keen on developing leadership skills, and motivated to contribute to a thriving team-centered workplace. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain food safety standards, as the role requires Serve Safe certification.
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, often involving hot and noisy kitchen conditions where employees must stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Effective communication, adaptability, and conflict management skills are essential to excel in this role. Panda Express is deeply committed to equal opportunity employment and complies with all applicable laws concerning workplace accommodations, encouraging a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Joining Panda Express as an Assistant Manager offers a unique opportunity to advance your career with an industry leader that values your growth and success. You become part of a family-oriented culture dedicated to inspiring individuals to better their lives and positively impact the communities they serve. If you are a motivated leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, Panda Express welcomes you to apply and grow with them.
