Job Description

Panda Express, founded in Glendale, California, stands as the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant concept in America. Since its inception in 1983, Panda Express has grown to nearly 2,800 locations globally, committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences across the country and beyond. As part of the Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., the company prides itself on its deep-rooted family values, fostering an environment where people are inspired to improve their lives both personally and professionally.

Panda Express is dedicated to the growth and development of its family of associates. The company offers paid Store Management Leadership Training, mentorship, and a supportive community aimed at empowering its team members for success. This emphasis on professional and personal development is a key part of Panda Express's mission, making it an industry leader not just in food service but also in creating rewarding career pathways.

The role of Assistant Manager at Panda Express is integral to the success of each store. As an Assistant Manager, you will assist in operating a single store, overseeing vital functions such as hiring, managing, and directing associates to achieve financial and customer service goals. Your leadership will ensure that the store delivers exceptional guest experiences consistently. This position entails flexibility, including working a varied schedule that covers opening and closing shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings, shaped to meet business needs.

To prepare candidates for success, Panda Express offers an extensive store leadership training program lasting three or more weeks. The training encompasses operational management, people leadership, and compliance standards including food safety certifications such as Serve Safe. This thorough preparation exemplifies Panda Express's commitment to excellence and the empowerment of its leaders.

The work environment includes challenges such as working in a fast-paced kitchen with hot steam, food vapors, and high noise levels, necessitating adaptability and strong communication skills. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work with various kitchen equipment efficiently. The company values safety, quality, and teamwork, fostering a culture where associates can thrive and contribute meaningfully.

Panda Express is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion, offering reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities and abiding by all applicable laws. The organization invites candidates from varied backgrounds to apply and become part of a family that supports growth and success in the vibrant foodservice industry.
