Job Description
Panda Express is a globally recognized leader in the fast-casual dining industry, specializing in American Chinese cuisine. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company is deeply committed to creating exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. At Panda Express, associates and leaders alike are part of a dedicated family that values professional growth, mentorship, and community impact. The organization embraces family values and aims to inspire its employees to better their lives both professionally and personally.
Panda Express is currently seeking experienced and motivated individuals to join their store management team as Assistant Managers. This role plays a critical part in the operation of a single Panda Express store, where the Assistant Manager will assist in managing and directing store associates to achieve financial objectives while ensuring the delivery of an outstanding guest experience. The company offers a comprehensive paid Store Management Leadership Training program spanning three or more weeks to prepare incoming managers for success in their roles. This training provides associates with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to effectively lead their teams and maintain high standards within their stores.
As an Assistant Manager, you will have responsibility for various operational functions, including hiring capable team members, scheduling, training, and motivating staff, and managing store performance metrics. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, often involving evening, weekend, and holiday shifts to meet business demands. You must also be willing to relocate within a 50-mile radius of your home to accommodate store needs. The fast-paced, dynamic environment demands strong verbal communication, conflict management skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing tasks in a hot kitchen environment with exposure to steam, food vapors, and limited workspace.
Panda Express is proud of its commitment to equal opportunity employment and actively fosters diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace. The company complies with all federal, state, and local laws regarding workplace accommodations and supports applicants and employees with disabilities through reasonable accommodations during the application and hiring process. Applicants are encouraged to request accommodations as necessary to ensure an equitable recruitment experience.
This Assistant Manager role at Panda Express is an excellent career opportunity for individuals passionate about leadership, hospitality, and delivering exceptional customer service in a thriving, family-oriented brand. The organization provides a supportive community environment, room for advancement, and the chance to be part of a respected industry leader dedicated to both customer satisfaction and associate success.
