The company maintains a strong commitment to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences, fueled by the core values of family, community, and personal development. Panda Express is dedicated to fostering a supportive, inclusive work environment that nurtures the professional and personal growth of its associates through mentorship, training, and a community that genuinely cares about employee success.
The company prides itself on its ability to blend rich Asian culinary traditions with a vibrant food service culture that aims at both customer satisfaction and employee empowerment. Panda Express believes that its greatest asset is its people, which is why it continually invests in comprehensive training and leadership development programs. This focus helps cultivate skilled leaders who can drive operational success, inspire teams, and create memorable guest experiences.
The Assistant Manager role at Panda Express is a key leadership position within the store management team, responsible for supporting the daily operations of one store location. This position involves managing and directing associates to meet the store’s financial objectives while ensuring the highest standards of customer service. The Assistant Manager plays an essential role in recruitment, training, and employee development, acting as a mentor and motivator for the store team. The role also involves ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and operational procedures to deliver a safe and enjoyable environment for both employees and guests.
To prepare candidates for the role, Panda Express offers an extensive store management leadership training program lasting at least three weeks, designed to equip new leaders with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel. The training focuses on essential managerial competencies, operational efficiencies, financial management, and fostering a positive culture of teamwork and respect within the store. Assistant Managers are expected to exhibit flexibility in their scheduling, as the position requires working various shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and sometimes longer hours to meet business needs.
Panda Express also emphasizes inclusivity and equal employment opportunities for all, irrespective of gender, race, religion, age, or veteran status. The company complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), providing accommodations where necessary to ensure applicants and employees can perform their roles effectively. This supportive approach extends to working conditions, where the physical demands and workspace constraints are clearly communicated, ensuring candidates understand the role’s expectations related to the fast-paced restaurant setting.
Joining Panda Express as an Assistant Manager presents a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about leadership and the food service industry. With a renowned brand, comprehensive support system, and a clear path for career development, Panda Express is an excellent environment for those eager to advance their management careers in hospitality and quick-service restaurants.
