Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, specializing in American Chinese cuisine. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company is celebrated for its dedication to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences that not only satisfy customers' tastes but also create welcoming environments where associates and guests feel valued and inspired. Panda Express places a strong emphasis on family values, both within the organization and in the communities it serves, promoting a culture of care, respect, and professional development.
As an integral part of this dynamic organization, Panda Express is currently seeking experienced and motivated leaders to join its store management team as Assistant Managers. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about leading teams to success. The Assistant Manager will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of a single store, supporting the achievement of financial goals while ensuring an outstanding guest experience. To set new hires up for success, Panda Express offers a comprehensive paid Store Management Leadership Training program lasting three or more weeks, along with ongoing mentorship and support from the Panda community. This ensures that every Assistant Manager is equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel in their role.
The position involves responsibilities such as hiring, managing, and directing team members to foster a motivated and efficient workforce. Assistant Managers help maintain high standards for food safety and quality by enforcing protocols and ensuring team compliance, particularly with certifications such as Serve Safe. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to navigate and resolve conflicts or challenging situations effectively, all while maintaining a positive working environment. Flexibility is key, as schedules may include weekends and work within a 50-mile radius of the store location, adapting to the needs of the business and community. Additionally, physical stamina is important since the role often requires standing for long periods, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and working in a kitchen environment that may be hot and noisy.
Panda Express is committed to diversity and inclusion, proudly adhering to Equal Opportunity Employment principles. The company does not discriminate based on gender, race, religion, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Furthermore, Panda Express ensures all applicants and employees receive reasonable accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to facilitate successful participation in the hiring process and job performance.
Joining Panda Express as an Assistant Manager provides not only a challenging and rewarding career path but also an opportunity to be part of a supportive family-like community dedicated to personal and professional growth. With comprehensive training programs and a culture focused on lifting associates to their fullest potential, Panda Express is an excellent place to build a lasting career in the restaurant management industry.
