The position available is a managerial role in Banquet and Event Services, which involves overseeing the operational aspects of food and beverage services related to functions and events. This role is integral in ensuring flawless execution of banquet events, maintaining the highest service standards, coordinating between kitchen, stewarding, and service teams, and guaranteeing customer satisfaction. The manager in this role is responsible for communication across teams, verifying room setups, equipment, and presentation details, managing inventory, scheduling staff to meet business needs, and leading shift teams to deliver consistent and quality service.
The manager will actively participate in events, conducting inspections, leading pre-shift meetings, and supporting compliance with brand standards and legal obligations. Additionally, the role encompasses training and development of staff, problem-solving, performance management, and collaboration with event planners to exceed guest expectations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
- minimum 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
- or 3 years experience in at least two hospitality areas if no standard educational background
- ability to lead and motivate teams
- strong communication skills
- flexibility to work varied shifts
- knowledge of OSHA regulations
- commitment to excellent customer service
- ability to manage event operations and inventory
- understanding of brand standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
- 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
- experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem solving, running day-to-day operation, hospitality skills
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance
- knowledge of brand standards and service programs
Job Duties
- Communicates service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions
- totals charges for group functions and prepares and presents checks to group contacts for payment
- verifies banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service
- verifies proper centerpieces are displayed on every table
- inspects the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use
- checks in with guests to verify satisfaction
- sets tables according to type of event and service standards
- communicates additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
- maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
- supports compliance with brand standards and legal obligations
- supports and leads shift teams to provide consistent, high quality service
- coordinates and leads daily stand-up meetings, pre-shift meetings and pre and post-meal briefings
- communicates performance expectations and trains staff in processes
- assists more senior managers in completion of financial and administrative duties
- strives to continually improve guest/event and employee satisfaction and maximize financial performance
