The role of Assistant Manager - Cafe at Fleet Morris Petroleum, Inc. is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position reporting directly to the General Manager. This position plays a critical role in managing the daily operations of the cafe within the company’s convenience stores, focusing specifically on the food and beverage department. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Recruits, hires, trains, mentors, and manages cafe department employees
  • Supervises and evaluates department's employees to promote growth, efficiency, morale, engagement, and teamwork
  • Produces and maintains department's weekly employee shift schedule
  • Conducts regular department staff meetings to promote communication and collaboration
  • Maintains communication with staff across all departments via central office, phone, email, and virtual meetings
  • Oversees daily operations including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment
  • Maintains accurate inventory on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Prepares orders from vendors to ensure accurate production
  • Maintains food production that ensures safety and quality according to policies and company requirements
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Ensures safe and organized storage of food and chemicals
  • Ensures security of company assets
  • Collaborates with cooks and team members to ensure recipe adherence and portion control
  • Ensures all food and beverage offerings meet quality and presentation standards
  • Implements company marketing strategies
  • Ensures exceptional customer service standards
  • Addresses customer inquiries and complaints promptly and effectively
  • Fosters a friendly and welcoming environment to encourage repeat business
  • Operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • Performs cashier duties as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by General Manager or Food and Beverage Director
