The role of Assistant Beverage Manager at Palms is integral to the success of the beverage operation. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two years of related experience
- experience in high volume restaurant management, beverage management or supervisory roles
- knowledge of computer software such as Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- effective listening and strong judgment skills
- excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- availability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- ability to obtain and maintain TAM Card and Southern Nevada Food Handlers Card
- capability to develop department goals and action plans
- ability to maintain employee license requirements, attendance, payroll, and files
- demonstrate compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and Collective Bargaining Agreements
- physical ability to perform duties including prolonged sitting or standing, mobility, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions
- tolerate varying noise, temperature, illumination and air quality conditions
- willingness to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two years of related experience
- high volume restaurant management, beverage management or supervisory experience required
- basic knowledge of computer software including Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and office equipment
- effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills
- excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- demonstrated experience developing department goals and action plans aligned with company goals
- obtain and maintain a TAM Card and Southern Nevada Food Handlers Card
- equivalent combination of education and progressive relevant experience may be considered
Job Duties
- Direct smooth, efficient, cost-effective operation, including labor management, supervision of all aspects of services, scheduling, and inventory control
- ensure all departmental service standards are upheld
- manage human resources responsibilities for assigned department(s) including creating a work environment promoting teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction, quality hiring, training in compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and Collective Bargaining Agreements
- ensure maintenance and cleanliness of outlets with focus on departmental and SNHD food safety standards, OSHA, Fire and Life Safety Regulations
- maintain employee license requirements, attendance, payroll records, and files
- maintain a working relationship with the Culinary Union
- comply with company policies, legal requirements, and Collective Bargaining Agreements
- create daily floor plans based on the schedule for managers to use as a tool when overseeing casino floor
- edit and track employee's time
- post all bids, memos, and schedules in a timely manner
- assist with processes and paperwork regarding hiring, separation, discipline, training, and compliance
- support all areas of the Beverage department by ensuring all products are stocked and properly inventoried for accurate cost control
- seek ways to reduce departmental operating costs without affecting quality of beverage or service
- provide guidance and counsel to beverage employees
- ensure staff is scheduled properly
- resolve guest claims or disputes between team members in a fair and patient manner
- ensure prompt, courteous service consistently to all guests
- effectively interact with all departments regarding issues or assistance
- keep Beverage Manager informed of pertinent information and irregularities
- assist Beverage Manager and Director with projects
- perform other duties as assigned to support efficient operation and public health emergency response
