The role of Assistant Manager – Bar & Beverage is a pivotal leadership position within Cherokee Town and Country Club. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management business or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in bar and beverage operations within a private club luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment
- Demonstrated success managing bar operations across both à la carte dining and banquet/event service
- Proven experience with ordering inventory management par levels and cost controls
- Expertise in cocktail development wine and spirits programs and beverage menu design
- Ability to lift and change kegs when needed
- Experience in hiring onboarding training and coaching bar staff
- Strong understanding of banquet/event bar requisitions and setup requirements
- Financial acumen with the ability to monitor beverage costs and drive performance
- ServSafe Certification required or ability to obtain
- TIPS Certification required or preferred
- Ensure proper permitting and pour licenses

Job Duties
- Lead all bar operations across à la carte outlets and banquet/event spaces ensuring consistency quality and adherence to Club standards
- Develop implement and maintain an elevated beverage program including craft cocktails wine offerings and specialty products
- Standardize recipes presentation and execution to ensure consistency across all bartenders and service environments
- Actively manage bar operations during service periods engaging with members supporting staff and ensuring timely precise execution
- Oversee all ordering inventory management and par levels for liquor beer wine and bar supplies
- Maintain control of beverage costs minimizing variance and waste while maximizing quality
- Coordinate and execute bar requisitions for all banquet and club events ensuring proper product allocation and readiness
- Collaborate with vendors to source specialty and allocated products aligned with the Club's standards
- Maintain a safe alcohol environment
- Recruit hire onboard and train all bartenders and bar personnel
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance management to ensure a highly skilled and service-oriented team
- Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate expectations feature beverages and service priorities
- Establish and maintain training programs for cocktail execution product knowledge and service standards
- Create and manage bartender and bar staff schedules across all outlets and events
- Align staffing levels with business volume and maintain labor efficiency without compromising service
- Provide a weekly bar operations and staffing outlook to Club leadership
- Continuously evaluate bar workflows setup and service models to improve efficiency and guest experience
- Monitor beverage cost percentages inventory variances and overall program profitability
- Review purchasing usage and sales reports to identify trends and opportunities
- Support cost control initiatives while maintaining premium product offerings and service standards
