Customer satisfaction is paramount in this role. The Assistant Manager leads by example to inspire the team to deliver exceptional guest service continuously, aiming for 100 percent guest satisfaction. Utilizing company tools like BLAST for complaint resolution and promoting empowerment among team members are key strategies that ensure guest experiences surpass expectations. Additionally, this leadership role encompasses managing financial elements such as labor costs, overtime, inventory, audits, and cash handling, ensuring the restaurant meets strict financial controls and protects the company's assets.
Operations management is also a significant responsibility, including enforcing core behaviors, compliance with training standards, maintaining cleanliness, safety, and security, and ensuring all municipal and federal regulatory requirements are met consistently. The Assistant Manager must keep operational procedures updated and communicate any issues or changes to higher management promptly.
Marketing initiatives and shift scheduling are also part of the job duties, requiring the Assistant Manager to optimize traffic and sales opportunities by implementing company marketing programs effectively.
