Job Description

Blue Boiler Cats Master, LLC and its associated entities operate as independently owned and operated franchises of the renowned Jimmy John's Franchise, LLC system. As a vibrant and dynamic franchise group, Blue Boiler Cats brings the celebrated Jimmy John's experience to multiple locations, distinguishing itself through commitment to quality, community, and exceptional service. These franchise entities are responsible for their own hiring decisions and are separate legal entities from the Jimmy John's franchisor. This unique distinction ensures that employees benefit from a close-knit, locally managed work environment supported by the robust brand and operational standards of the larger Jimmy John's network.

Jimmy John's has become synonymous with fresh, high-quality sandwiches made from all-natural meats and crisp vegetables sliced right in-store each day. The baking of fresh bread is a visible and integral part of the daily routine, allowing customers and staff alike to partake in an environment that emphasizes freshness and passion for quality food. The house-made tuna salad, ripe tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and real Hellmann's mayonnaise create the unique and beloved flavor profile that has allowed Jimmy John’s to thrive since 1983. This dedication to freshness and authenticity, termed "Jimmy Fresh," serves as the foundation of the brand's reputation and operational philosophy.

The Assistant Manager role within the Blue Boiler Cats franchise network is a pivotal position designed for motivated individuals eager to contribute to the successful daily operations of the store. Reporting directly to the General Manager, Assistant Managers play a vital leadership role in ensuring that in-store activities and back-of-house procedures run efficiently, smoothly, and with impeccable accuracy. The role demands a hands-on approach where the Assistant Manager is expected to lead by example, consistently executing established systems and procedures with 100 percent integrity.

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Manager position will bring enthusiasm, positivity, and a proactive attitude to a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This person will be engaged in many facets of store operations, ranging from hands-on tasks such as completing prep work and managing busy service rushes to conducting comprehensive weekly inventory audits and handling critical paperwork. The ability to train new employees and communicate effectively with the General Manager about store needs is essential to meeting the store’s goals.

Assistant Managers must also be adept at managing stress in a fast-moving environment, prioritizing operational tasks with minimal supervision, and confidently performing key opening or closing duties as required. The role offers a meaningful opportunity to advance within a well-established franchise system known for valuing employee growth and operational excellence. While the work requires diligence, it equally provides rewarding benefits including health and vision insurance, paid time off accruing with length of service, as well as free meals during every shift.

This position requires an individual willing to commit to a minimum of 35 hours per week and demonstrates tech-savviness with a basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Importantly, candidates must be at least 18 years old to meet company policy standards. By joining Blue Boiler Cats as an Assistant Manager, you will become part of a team dedicated to delivering outstanding quality and service reflective of the Jimmy John’s legacy, all while enjoying a supportive work culture and structured benefits.
