Job Description

Panda Express is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, founded in 1983 in Glendale, California. With nearly 2,800 locations worldwide, Panda Express is a pillar in the fast-casual dining industry, known for delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences and maintaining a strong family-oriented culture. As an organization, Panda Express is deeply committed to the professional and personal development of its employees, viewing its associates as part of an extended family. This commitment is reflected in its comprehensive training, leadership development programs, and supportive community environment that fosters growth and success.

This role is for an Assistant Manager position within a Panda Express store, where you will play a vital role in the operational success of a single store. Your responsibilities will encompass managing and directing associates to meet financial goals and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Joining Panda Express means you will benefit from paid Store Management Leadership Training, mentorship, and ongoing support to equip you with the skills necessary for effective store leadership. The training period lasts approximately three or more weeks, focusing on preparing you for success in your role.

At Panda Express, we believe in rewarding our team members generously. Our compensation packages are competitive and include bonus opportunities. For full-time associates, we offer an attractive benefits package that includes medical, vision, dental, and voluntary short-term disability insurance, as well as cancer income protection insurance. Additionally, you will have access to a pre-tax dependent care flexible spending account, a 401K plan with company match, and paid time off including holidays, bereavement, funeral leave, and a Leave Share Program. We also provide discounts on theme parks, gym memberships, and various other perks. Our culture encourages community involvement, giving you opportunities to give back where you live. Career growth is strongly supported through continuous education assistance, scholarships, and robust leadership development programs. We also offer a lucrative associate referral bonus and income protection insurance covering disability, life, and AD&D.

Panda Express thrives on inclusivity and equal opportunity. Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer, celebrating diversity and honoring laws that protect against discrimination based on sex, gender, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, age, and more. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees to ensure equitable participation throughout hiring and employment.

This position requires flexibility in scheduling to meet business needs, including availability for opening and closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays. It also requires the willingness to relocate within a 50-mile radius from your home to a Panda Express store location. The physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, working in a fast-paced environment often characterized by heat and noise, and using kitchen tools safely and effectively. The role requires strong verbal communication skills, adaptability to changing priorities, and the ability to manage conflicts or difficult situations professionally. Having Serve Safe certification and a high school diploma is mandatory for candidates applying for this role.

Joining Panda Express as an Assistant Manager is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to be part of a family that values leadership, cultural diversity, and career advancement in a dynamic, growth-driven environment. You will receive hands-on training, continuous support, and opportunities to step into higher management roles as you grow your career with us.
