Job Description

Black Family Hospitality (BFH) is a renowned family-owned Texas institution that has been steeped in generations of tradition, heart, and hospitality since 2014. The company has grown from its original flagship restaurant, Terry Black's BBQ, to include several celebrated dining establishments like Opal's Oysters. These restaurants have become local icons in Texas, widely recognized for their authentic Texas barbecue and elevated dining experiences. BFH's commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and flavor has earned acclaim both locally and beyond the state's borders, establishing the brand as a beloved culinary destination for residents and visitors alike. The family-oriented approach has been a foundational element of BFH's success, fostering a welcoming, warm, and memorable atmosphere where guests feel like part of the family.

Black Family Hospitality is now expanding its horizons with an exciting new concept that merges immersive entertainment with expertly crafted cocktails, thoughtful cuisine, and experiential hospitality that transcends traditional dining experiences. This expansion represents a bold step forward for the company, emphasizing innovation while maintaining the deep-seated values of family and tradition. Prospective employees who join BFH become part of a family-driven organization where craftsmanship, storytelling, and innovation come together, and where every team member has the opportunity to contribute to a growing legacy. The culture at BFH prioritizes not only exceptional service and quality but also the personal development and growth of its team members. This makes it an ideal environment for those passionate about hospitality and excellence.

The role of the Restaurant Assistant Manager at BFH is pivotal in maintaining the high standards for which the company is known. Under the guidance of the General Manager, the Assistant Manager will manage the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure consistent quality, service, and performance. This role demands a hands-on leader who is comfortable in both front-of-house and back-of-house supervisory duties. The Assistant Manager will coordinate shift schedules, monitor inventory, and uphold rigorous compliance with health and safety regulations. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Assistant Manager will support staff training and development, fostering a positive team culture that champions exceptional guest experiences.

The Assistant Manager will also play a vital role in addressing guest inquiries and resolving concerns professionally and diplomatically, reinforcing BFH’s reputation for outstanding customer service. Financial stewardship is another key aspect of the role, requiring vigilance in cost control and operational efficiency to drive sales and profitability. Beyond these tasks, the Assistant Manager will assist in implementing company policies and tracking financial performance to support the General Manager's strategic goals. The starting salary for this position is $65,000, with opportunities for bonuses and comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, reflecting BFH's investment in its employees' well-being and career growth. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are committed to upholding a legacy of family, flavor, and excellence in hospitality.
