Job Description

Flynn Group entered the Panera system in 2015 with the acquisition of 47 cafes and has since grown to become the second-largest Panera franchisee globally, with continued expansion through new store openings and acquisitions of other franchise operators. Flynn Panera operates under a decentralized business model, with each geographic area led by a Market Leader overseeing Area Directors and General Managers responsible for individual cafes. Flynn Group, founded in 1999 by Greg Flynn, is the world's largest franchise operator with a diverse portfolio of well-known brands including Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. Their core values—Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One—guide their mission to be the premier operator within each brand.

The role of a Restaurant Manager at Flynn Panera is critical to the success of their upscale, friendly Panera Bread cafes, which offer made-to-order soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages in a grease and alcohol-free environment. Managers lead teams of up to 75 staff members, providing outstanding leadership, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. The position is ideal for morning people, as Panera cafes operate without fryers and late-night shifts, emphasizing high food quality, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards throughout the restaurant. This management role involves not only supervising daily operations, including labor management, marketing, bakery operations, and catering, but also developing team members, managing budgets, and being a key communicator between staff and senior management.

Candidates for this position should be passionate about the restaurant industry and skilled in coaching and mentoring team members to create a profitable and high-performing environment. Experienced restaurant professionals with a steady employment history, keen attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills will find this opportunity rewarding. Managers are expected to embody Flynn Panera's values and culture, promote a professional image, and lead by example. The role offers competitive wages, profit sharing, meal discounts, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation, and opportunities for professional development. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and move throughout shifts up to ten hours, lift items up to 50 pounds safely, and possess the manual dexterity needed for restaurant tasks. Flynn Panera is committed to diversity and inclusion, providing reasonable accommodations during the hiring process and employment. This comprehensive management position at a fast-growing, reputable brand offers a strong foundation for career growth in hospitality management.
