The Assistant Manager role at Jack in the Box is vital to the success of the restaurant's daily operations. This position functions either alongside the Restaurant Manager or steps in during their absence, exercising discretion in making key management decisions to ensure the effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and maintaining the Brand Promise. The primary responsibilities focus on delivering excellent internal and external service, driving restaurant sales and profitability, and ensuring strict compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience as Shift Leader or Assistant Manager for internal candidates
  • Minimum 3 years Assistant Manager experience with P&L responsibility for external candidates
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Completion of Assistant Manager training classes
  • ServSafe certification
  • Effective English communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1+ years experience as a Shift Leader or 1 year experience as an Assistant Manager for internal promotion
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as an Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility for external recruits
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must complete Assistant Manager training classes
  • Must be ServSafe certified
  • Ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform and understand basic math concepts

Job Duties

  • Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate restaurant employees
  • Monitor staffing levels and ensure proper employee training on workstations
  • Identify and develop internal candidates for management and Team Leader positions
  • Ensure effective execution of the Service Profit Chain and create a positive restaurant environment
  • Motivate and inspire employees while adhering to company procedures and recognizing their performance
  • Manage daily restaurant operations to achieve excellence in service and food quality
  • Respond to guest concerns and ensure positive resolution
  • Utilize management tools to analyze operational and financial performance
  • Develop and execute action plans to increase sales and profitability
