These venues are known for serving delicious, approachable food and drinks in uniquely beautiful and family-friendly atmospheres, emphasizing exceptional guest service. Operating multiple locations, GLGSAV has built a strong reputation within the restaurant industry by fostering environments where both guests and employees feel valued and welcomed. The company prioritizes a positive and safe work environment, competitive compensation, and a commitment to team member wellness and growth, making it one of the prominent employers in the hospitality sector.
Currently, GLGSAV is seeking an exceptional and experienced Assistant Manager to join the dynamic team at The 5 Spot, a casual neighborhood restaurant known for its inviting bar program and comfortable atmosphere. The Assistant Manager role is a floating position and will report to multiple 5 Spot locations, requiring adaptability and flexibility to manage different teams and settings effectively. This role is crucial in driving the success of each location, as the individual must run the restaurant as if it were their own, supported by a strong leadership team including General Managers and Senior Management.
The Assistant Manager will be empowered with the necessary tools and support needed to thrive, provided by the leadership team who encourage autonomy and professional growth. This role appeals to those passionate about hospitality and eager to build a long-term career in the industry. GLGSAV believes in internal team development by offering extensive training, resources, and support to foster lasting careers.
The position offers competitive pay ranging from $50,000 to $60,000, dependent on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. These include highly subsidized major medical coverage, dental, vision, short-term disability insurance options, a 401K plan with company match, paid time off, free shift meals, and mental healthcare support through a partnership with Heads Up Guidance Services. Employees also benefit from a positive work environment with zero tolerance for harassment and a strong emphasis on work-life balance.
The Assistant Manager will oversee, direct, and coordinate the daily operations including planning, organizing, training, and leading restaurant staff to achieve objectives related to sales, costs, employee retention, guest satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation. Responsibilities extend to upholding company culture and standards, regulatory compliance, financial handling, inventory control, personnel management, and ensuring all guests receive outstanding service. This role actively encourages innovative problem solving, team development, and contributes to the overall restaurant atmosphere.
The perfect candidate will have previous assistant management experience in hospitality or food and beverage industries, be at least 21 years old, and demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. They must be capable of managing teams, handling cash and point-of-sale systems, and be physically able to stand long hours and lift up to 50 pounds. Availability across varied shifts including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays is required. This opportunity offers not just a job but a long-term career path in a company dedicated to the success and well-being of its employees and guests alike.
