The Assistant Service Center Manager (ASCM) position at Valvoline Instant Oil Change plays an essential role in supporting service center operations and enhancing customer experience. As the right hand to the Service Center Manager, the ASCM assists in supervising and mentoring hourly employees while leading by example in delivering top-notch automotive maintenance services. Responsibilities include performing oil changes and additional car maintenance, helping with inventory management, labor oversight, financial tracking, and ensuring compliance with health and safety policies. The ASCM ensures the service center operates smoothly by maintaining cleanliness, safety, and organization. This position requires developing a high-performance team dedicated to winning customers' trust and loyalty through exceptional service and a welcoming environment. Candidates with supervisory experience, preferably in retail, and the ability to work in physically demanding conditions will thrive in this role. Job Requirements
- Six months of supervisory experience required, preferably in a retail environment
- Knowledge of cash handling, facility, and safety control policies and practices
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time and climb stairs
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment
- Have full mobility and can twist, stoop, and bend
- High school diploma or equivalent
- This role requires the ability to review, read, and understand written and digital training materials, safety procedures, labels, and operational instructions
- English fluency in reading, writing, and speaking
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Perform oil changes and additional car maintenance services
- Assist the Service Center Manager (SCM) in the daily operation and oversight of the service center
- Deliver a positive first impression to each guest with a warm and friendly greeting
- Build trust and win repeat, loyal customers
- Support the SCM with inventory, labor management, and financial performance of the service center
- Mentor, lead, and train the team to optimize their development
- Help maintain a clean, well-organized service center and facilitate a safe and secure working environment
- Become familiar with Environmental, Health & Safety compliance and other policies and procedures
