The Assistant Store Manager role at Stinker is an integral part of the leadership team, often described as part of the "Stinkin’ Awesome" crew. This position reports directly to the Store Manager and plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth daily store operations. The Assistant Store Manager acts as a mentor and leader within the team, leading by example and maintaining high standards of service and operational quality. They are responsible for overseeing store activities such as inventory management, vendor deliveries, sales audits, and fuel deliveries, making sure everything runs efficiently and according to company policies. When the Store Manager is absent, the Assistant Store Manager steps up to oversee all store functions, ensuring a fresh and well-organized environment.
Holding this position requires a solution-focused mindset, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively among many moving parts. The role demands open availability, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, to ensure consistent leadership coverage. Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, using step stools or ladders safely, and working in cold storage areas.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Must have valid driver's license and proof of insurance
- Must consent to and pass a background check
- Minimum high school diploma or GED with two years of prior retail store management experience
- Ability to balance on a step stool or step ladder
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from floor to eye level
- Able to work in a cooler at an average temperature of 32 degrees
- Open availability including weekends, holidays, and evenings
Job Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- Two years of prior retail store management experience
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate team members
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
Job Duties
- Provide scent-sational customer service to customers and team members by creating a welcoming environment, assisting with their needs, answering questions, building relationships, and resolving customer concerns
- Keep things smelling fresh by supporting the Store Manager on daily tasks such as books, inventory audits, vendor deliveries, supply orders, and fuel deliveries
- Ensure leadership coverage is present when the Store Manager isn't available
- Assist in onboarding, mentor and lead by example, and sniff out ways to engage and motivate the team
- Oversee store operations in the absence of the Store Manager, maintaining store standards and organization
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and safety standards throughout the store
- Collaborate with the leadership team to achieve sales goals and operational objectives
