The Assistant Manager at Zaxbys plays a vital leadership role responsible for upholding operational standards, coaching and developing team members, and managing scheduling and shift assignments. Assistant Managers are expected to complete all training requirements—such as food safety and management certifications—and to lead by example in maintaining cleanliness, service quality, and compliance with company policies and governmental regulations.

In addition to managing daily business functions, Assistant Managers handle guest and employee concerns professionally and promptly while promoting teamwork and a positive work environment. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Open availability and ability to work minimum of 5 days and 32 to 48 hours per week
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Successful completion of background check
  • Must possess leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to interact cooperatively with others
  • 1-3 years management experience required
  • Restaurant management experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys Assistant Manager Development Plan
  • Ensure team members satisfy and exceed guest expectations
  • Provide proper training, coaching, and development to team members
  • Create and manage effective work schedules following company standards and local laws
  • Plan and delegate shift assignments while communicating expectations
  • Supervise and lead team members to achieve quarterly goals
  • Maintain service, product quality, and cleanliness standards
  • Communicate performance concerns to General Manager
  • Assist with performance reviews and mentor team members
  • Foster a positive culture and team morale
  • Handle and report guest and team member complaints and concerns
  • Ensure processes, policies, and procedures are properly followed
  • Maintain compliance with company guidelines and laws
  • Utilize management tools to keep accurate records
  • Promote safety and report all human resource or risk management issues
  • Perform all other duties necessary for restaurant operations
