The Assistant Manager at KFC plays a crucial role in supporting the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) in the daily operations of the restaurant. As the second-in-command, the Assistant Manager is responsible for driving team performance, ensuring adherence to brand standards, and maintaining operational excellence. This position requires a dynamic leader who is committed to overseeing food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety standards consistently. The Assistant Manager must handle a variety of responsibilities including staffing, scheduling, coaching team members, managing guest experiences, and assisting with administrative and financial tasks.

The role demands strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop employees to achieve peak performance. The Assistant Manager must also enforce company policies such as proper uniform compliance, no cellphone use during work hours, and professional appearance to maintain a disciplined and productive workforce. Additionally, that individual must demonstrate competence in cash handling, deposit completion, inventory control, and regulatory compliance to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

KFC requires the Assistant Manager to have reliable transportation, an active driver’s license, and basic computer skills. The successful candidate will consistently pass all ROCC (Restaurant Operations Coaching and Compliance) evaluations, participate in hiring and training new employees, and be flexible to relocate if necessary. This position is integral to maintaining the high standards KFC is known for, while fostering a positive and welcoming environment for both guests and staff. Job Duties

  • Support the RGM in overseeing daily restaurant operations
  • Ensure proper staffing, scheduling, and labor control in alignment with sales trends
  • Monitor product quality, hold times, and food safety procedures to meet KFC standards
  • Verify completion of opening, shift, and closing checklists
  • Lead, motivate, and develop Shift Supervisors and Team Members
  • Conduct ongoing coaching, evaluations, and performance feedback
  • Ensure team compliance with uniform, appearance, and attendance standards
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees
  • Maintain high service standards and respond quickly to guest concerns
  • Monitor Speed with Service metrics and drive improvements in order accuracy and hospitality
  • Promote a positive and welcoming guest environment
  • Assist in controlling food, paper, and labor costs to achieve profit targets
  • Accurately complete cash handling and daily deposit procedures
  • Support in inventory counting, ordering, and waste control
  • Ensure compliance with all local health and safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance throughout the restaurant
  • Follow up on brand and internal audit results and execute corrective actions
  • Greet guests with a warm, friendly smile and eye contact within 5 seconds of entering or approaching the counter or drive-thru
  • Take accurate orders quickly and confirm them clearly before processing
  • Maintain professionalism and a calm attitude during busy periods
  • Ensure every order meets KFC quality and accuracy standards
  • Offer guests value items or upgrades using suggestive selling language
  • Thank each guest sincerely and invite them back
