Job Description
The hiring establishment is a reputable restaurant recognized for its commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. This restaurant operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where quality food, customer service, and efficient management are top priorities. The company fosters a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and leadership development, aiming to deliver exceptional dining experiences while maintaining high standards in cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency. The restaurant emphasizes the importance of training and mentoring staff, ensuring that all team members, from frontline employees to management, grow professionally and are equipped to meet daily business challenges. They are currently seeking an Assistant Manager (AGM) to effectively manage restaurant operations during assigned shifts or in the absence of the Restaurant General Manager (RGM). This role is critical in supporting the RGM in sales and profit planning, implementing team member training, and developing operational proficiency to prepare for future advancement to an RGM position.
The Assistant Manager role involves a hands-on approach to managing daily restaurant operations with a strong focus on leadership and team development. The AGM will lead by example, coaching and motivating Shift Leaders, Shift Managers, and Team Members to achieve operational excellence. They play a key role in maintaining safety standards, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, and upholding the company’s policies and procedures. By analyzing sales data, labor costs, inventory levels, and other controllable costs, the Assistant Manager will take proactive steps to meet financial targets and support overall business growth. The AGM assists the RGM in preparing financial plans, managing labor efficiently, recruiting high-energy team members, and executing local marketing initiatives. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, franchisees, and corporate contacts, ensuring the restaurant operates smoothly and meets quality standards.
This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organizational abilities, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate is an effective team player who embraces diversity, demonstrates problem-solving skills, and possesses basic business, math, and accounting knowledge. Candidates should be familiar with all restaurant equipment, policies, and procedures and be capable of leading a team in a fast-paced food service environment. Completion of CHAMPS Certification and Developing Champions Certification for Leading a Restaurant in Manager’s Absence is preferred, along with one to two years of relevant food service experience or equivalent training. The restaurant values integrity, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. This Assistant Manager role is an excellent opportunity for individuals aiming to grow into a Restaurant General Manager position, providing comprehensive operational experience and leadership development in the restaurant industry.
