Job Description

Flynn Group is a leading franchise operator founded in 1999 by Greg Flynn that has grown into the largest franchise operator in the world. With a diversified portfolio that includes iconic, world-class brands such as Applebee’s, Arby’s, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and Planet Fitness, Flynn Group is widely recognized for its commitment to excellence in restaurant management and customer service. Flynn Panera, a division within Flynn Group, entered the Panera Bread system in 2015 by acquiring 47 cafes. Since then, Flynn Panera has experienced remarkable growth and now stands as the second largest Panera franchisee globally. This growth has been achieved through a combination of opening new stores and acquiring additional franchise operations. Flynn Panera operates under a decentralized business model where each geographic area is supervised by a Market Leader. Area Directors manage multiple units within their regions, and General Managers oversee the daily operations of individual cafes. Assistant Managers and Team Managers support the management team to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service delivery.

Flynn Panera’s cafes are upscale, friendly environments known for their artisan breads, quality soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages. Unlike many fast-casual restaurants, Panera Bread cafes do not use fryers and do not operate late into the night, creating a cleaner, grease-free setting that is welcoming for both associates and clients. Managers at Flynn Panera cafes play a pivotal role, overseeing up to 75 staff members and ensuring excellent customer service. Leadership is valued highly within the company, and managers are expected to inspire, coach, mentor, and maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and operational excellence.

Job Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years hospitality management experience
  • Degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or hotel/restaurant management preferred
  • Food management certifications a plus
  • Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to ten hours
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read and write for communication
  • Possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must have a steady and stable employment track record
  • Must embody the "run it like you own it mentality"

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years of hospitality management experience

Job Duties

  • Taking responsibility for the overall business performance of the restaurant including ordering scheduling labor management marketing facilities management bakery operations and catering
  • Analyzing and planning restaurant sales levels and profitability
  • Creating and executing plans for sustained profitability
  • Serving as the primary conduit of information between the associate and management team
  • Retaining and developing team members and managers
  • Managing a budget and controlling costs
  • Coordinating the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts
  • Greeting customers and conducting table visits to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Inspiring associates to have fun and be their authentic selves while generating high productivity
  • Coaching and mentoring associates through one-on-one sessions performance documentation and performance reviews
  • Anticipating problems and taking action to prevent them
  • Serving as the primary resource for resolving associate questions
  • Recruiting and training staff to meet staffing par levels
  • Ensuring objectives are achieved while operating within company guidelines cultural values and ethical business practices
  • Promoting and embodying company values and beliefs
