The Assistant Manager (AM) role at BURGER KING is a critical leadership position within the restaurant, responsible for supporting the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) in managing daily operations to ensure profitability, exceptional guest service, and the development of the restaurant team. Working under the guidance of the RGM, the Assistant Manager oversees a team of Hourly Shift Coordinators and Team Members, playing a hands-on role in both operational management and people development.

The Assistant Manager ensures that the restaurant maintains operational standards and procedures while motivating the team to exceed guest expectations. Key responsibilities also include managing inventory, maintaining preventative maintenance of the facility and equipment, and upholding strict cash control and security procedures.

  • Maintains inventory

  • Ensures preventative maintenance of restaurant facility and equipment is completed in accordance with Company standards, interacting with external vendors as required
  • Ensures that restaurant follows all cash control and security procedures
  • Interact in a positive and professional manner with guests and coworkers
  • Motivates and directs team members to exceed guest expectations with accurate, fast and friendly service in a clean facility
  • Provides coaching and feedback to Shifts Coordinators and Team Members to increase the restaurant team's capabilities and raise restaurant performance
  • Directs restaurant team toward efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products for prompt delivery within established speed of service guidelines
  • Ensures that restaurant upholds operational and brand standards
  • Performs duties of Hourly Shift Coordinator when necessary
