The role of Assistant General Manager at HomeTowne Studios comes with a starting wage between $21 and $22 per hour, depending on experience. This position is pivotal in supporting the Hotel General Manager by overseeing multiple operational areas such as Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Laundry, and Sales to ensure the hotel meets its quality, cleanliness, and service standards. The Assistant General Manager plays a critical role in staff recruitment, training, and leadership, promoting a team environment that exceeds service expectations and complies with federal, state, local, and company regulations. Key responsibilities include inspecting the hotel’s facilities to maintain high cleanliness standards, managing inventory and supplies within budget, controlling labor and forecasting costs, and executing administrative duties such as scheduling, payroll, and guest relations. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and proactive leader with at least two years of management experience, preferably within extended stay hotels, retail, or restaurant settings. Experience with profit and loss statements and budgeting is preferred, as is the ability to foster a positive work environment that drives team success. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience preferably in extended stay hotels restaurant or retail management
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Knowledge of profit and loss statements and budgeting preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to comply with relevant federal state and local regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Prefer 2 years of management experience preferably in extended stay hotels restaurant or retail management
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work without direct supervision
  • Understanding profit and loss statements and budgeting experience preferred
  • Ability and drive to lead a team and have the attitude for success

Job Duties

  • Assist the hotel general manager in inspecting rooms public access areas and outside grounds for cleanliness and order
  • Assist in the management of the front desk housekeeping maintenance laundry and sales at the hotel
  • Assist in the recruiting hiring training and leading of employees to meet and exceed service and quality of goods
  • Assist in coaching counseling and motivating of all employees as necessary
  • Assist in compliance of federal state local and company regulations
  • Learn to control costs effectively to meet budget guidelines through forecasting labor control and P and L performance
  • Help in managing property inventory and ordering of supplies to ensure proper stock levels are maintained while remaining within budget
  • Assist in the management of the daily weekly and monthly administrative functions including but not limited to scheduling labor reporting night audit verification payroll and responding to guest reviews
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
